Manufacture
In a production process, patented around the world, a mixture of pigments and glass powder (vitrification), which is stable even at high temperatures, is applied to 8-mm float glass and melted in a furnace at a temperature of 820°C (1508°F).
This industrial production process yields a homogeneous semi-finished product with maximum corrosion, temperature and light resistance. It is then processed further into over 3,000 different products - some of them are processed mechanically and some manually.
Our main rule says that we have to treat this valuable material with utmost care. Our strict quality-control system ensures that only flawless products with absolute dimensional accuracy are shipped out.
Our different formats, with a glass thickness from 8 to 16 mm, render VILLI products fully compatible with ceramic tiles. By cooling the glass in the furnace in a precise and controlled manner, the inner stresses of the glass are relieved. This is why VILLI products can be processed by means of conventional tools. The product range comprises 40 basic colors. Additional, special colors are available upon request.
